Well, I am packing doing laundry puting the rear fender back on the bike, picked up Zach's ashes today so I am just about ready to go. My stomache is in a knot though. 6,000 miles is a long ways to go, but I was thinking about this today and I may be the first man up the Dalton Hwy on a Ducati 900ss. Not sure if that is cool or just stupidity. I guess we will see.

NOT stupidity; it's the warrior in you, son, and that's a good thing. I was up early praying for your safe keeping and I am just so excited that you are getting to live your dream. Ride Hard; Ride Far; RIDE SAFE. People are waiting for you to come back with that radiant Nathan smile and tell us all the details. :)

The North Slope of Alaska is completely alcohol-free, and there is little or no tolerance for people who smuggle in alcohol or drugs. I’m told some of this goes on (who could doubt it, given the living conditions?), but I’ve seen no evidence of it myself. No one even jokes about it.
I saw this on the net when I was looking for pictures of your destination (Deadhorse). WHY would you want to go THERE? :)

Sorry I wasn't there when you came by. I wanted to badly to take a pic of you leaving on the bike...we did that with Zach a few times. I'll just ask Lisa for one when you get home. And call me when you are done settling in when you get home. I need a bike story fix! Zach is with you the whole way. Ride safe and have fun.
