Well, I am packing doing laundry puting the rear fender back on the bike, picked up Zach's ashes today so I am just about ready to go. My stomache is in a knot though. 6,000 miles is a long ways to go, but I was thinking about this today and I may be the first man up the Dalton Hwy on a Ducati 900ss. Not sure if that is cool or just stupidity. I guess we will see.

Is it the first yet? Come on already!
So have you heard the saying that you don't have to out run the bear just the slowest member in your group. I'm going by myself so I bought some bear spray today. Bring it on Smokey!!!

Well today I finished up getting the bike ready. Had a new set of tires mounted up yesterday along with a new set of wheel bearings. Turns out that the front axle is a little bit bent, I think from Zach's accident. They didn't have one in stock so I had to order one. But that will have to wait until I get back.
So today I changed the oil and finaly adjusted the set of PIAA's that I mounted a while ago. All is well and she is ready to go. Nothing left to do but pack and party with my wife on here birthday! One week and counting.

I figured if I was going to be gone for awhile I would probably need to charge my cell phone, laptop and iPod and plug in my heated vest and grips. So... I ordered a Centek fuse box. My father-in-law and I spent an afternoon rewiring most of the bike for all the goodies.

Now the bike's charging system doesn't have enough juice to power everything at once, but if I only run a few things at once I am good to go. I also added a set of PIAA's for better hallway vision. Having the fuse box sure did clean up the rats nest that was going on. I also wired my tank bag so the personal items, such as a cell phone, can charge inside my tank bag. Works sweet!

One step closer everyday!!
